- The customer module is basically a small one time server that uses parameters from the creation process to connect to the particular Computer support professional on the designated correction or port at the tech support centre.
- The tech support professional runs the viewer, and sets up the incoming connection path from the public internet to their particular support computer.
- When a customer
calls or contacts needing help the support technician instructs the customer to
download the support module from a website or email link.
Download and support connection setup typically takes only 1 - 3 minutes. - The customer support module installs the one time remote server on their computer using any special passwords or details the support tech provides.
- Once the module is running it connects to the support tech's pc usually with a connection message or tone.
- By accepting the connection the support tech can see the customers pc screen, control their mouse and keyboard. The technician works on the computer remotely, just as if he were at the customer's premises.
- Once the issue is solved the support tech disconnects and the software on the customer's pc un-installs itself removing any re-connection vulnerability.

The customers do not need to open any ports into their network.In Direct mode, each technician requires a separate port to be forwarded in the router to their workstation. 3 technicians require 3 ports
In Repeater mode, only 2 ports require forwarding to the DualDesk proxy software, The technicians do not need ports forwarded to their individual workstations. Customers connect to the proxy software on one port while technicians connect on a different port. This also allows technicians to support customers while they are out of the office at locations where they have no control of the firewall or router.
In Relay mode, only one port needs to be forwarded to the proxy software to allow all the technicians and customers to use the same public address and same public port. The technician workstations do not need any ports forwarded to their individual workstations.
